The mission of the Colchester Historical Society is to preserve, promote, and share the rich history and cultural heritage of Colchester, NY and its surrounding areas.  Our goal is to engage and educate the community about the people, events, and traditions that have shaped our town, and to inspire a sense of pride and appreciation for our local history.

Through research, collections, and exhibitions, we strive to uncover and celebrate the stories of our past, which also encouraging ongoing dialogue and exploration of our community’s identity and evolution.  We aim to foster a greater understanding and connection between past and present, and to promote a sustainable future that respects and honors our shared history.
